Carers Pamper Day, Wednesday 19 October 201103/10/2011 In association with NSW Carer’s Week on Wednesday, 19 October 2011 at Kincumber Neighbourhood Centre, 1/20 Kincumber Street, Kincumber. 10am –12.30pm followed by lunch COST: $5.00 which includes therapies, morning tea & lunch. Click for details We have a wonderful set of 3 workshops for Primary School aged children: Indian Rhythms: Bollywood and Traditional Dance. 3 Workshops: Thursdays 1st, 8th and 15th September 2011. Funded by Gosford City Council Cultural Grants Program 2011 3-Dimensional Collage Work 'At the Circus' Age Group: 5-8 years 1st workshop dates: Monday 15th and 22nd August from 4-6pm OR 2nd Workshop dates: Monday 29th August and 5th September from 4-6pm 3-Dimensional Collage Work 'At the Circus' Age Group: 9-12 years 1st Workshop dates: Tuesday 16th and 23rd August from 4-6pm OR 2nd Workshop dates: Tuesday 30th August and 6th September from 4-6pm Groups will be small with only 6 children per class. The cost is only $5.00 for both workshops. Children's Art Works will be exhibited at Kincumber Festival Saturday 17th September 9.30am to 2.30pm. We are offering the same workshops on different dates and to two age groups (5-8 years and 9-12 years) to accommodate as many children as possible. Please book quickly to avoid disappointment. Our regular groups such as Tai Chi for Over 50's, Music and Movement for Toddlers and Preschoolers, University of the 3rd Age, Seniors Computer Club and Youth Brekky Club are all running. We also have some short courses starting as well: The Feeling Good Program for Women - Mondays 10.30 am to 1 pm, 1 August to 5 September. The program blends personal development processes, simple yoga (no experience necessary) & meditation to promote resilience, strength & coping strategies. Bring a yoga mat (if you have one), cushion, blanket, sense of fun! Call the Neighbourhood Centre on 4363 1044 to book. $6 including morning tea. How to Keep Your Garden Weed & Pest Free - Saturday 6 August, 10 am to 3 pm. Get your hands dirty in the community garden gaining valuable information on how to reduce those pesky creatures in your garden. Vicky Gear will cover pest & disease control by companion planting, mulching, using herbal remedies & weed control. Better Health Self Management - Thursdays 10 am to 12.30 pm, 4 August to 8 September A free course for people with a chronic health condition - Asthma, Arthritis, Respiratory, Heart problems, Diabetes, Stroke, Osteoporosis, etc. You are welcome to bring your spouse, friend, relative or carer with you. Learn about strategies & techniques for managing your symptoms as well as improving your health and quality of life. Our small group workshops run once a week for 6 weeks. Now is the time to act. This course will help you feel nurtured and relaxed. The program blends personal development processes, simple yoga (no experience needed) and meditation practices to promote nurturing, resilience, strength and coping strategies. The focus is on health mind, body and spirit. This is a wonderful opportunity to spend time on yourself in a supportive space. The course is unique and covers areas relevant to typical household accidents so targets parents, grandparents, family and friends.
